Hi,
I'm Charlotte. I make and sell my artwork from a Historic Narrowboat on the Grand Union Canal.
My work is mainly centered around the waterways but also encompasses the surrounding countryside and my interest in industrial architecture. I make lino cut prints and paint traditional 'canal art'.
I have been involved with printmaking since before I can remember, growing up in a family who's business was silk screen printing. Printmaking has become very important to me since digital printing became the norm and nearly obliterated all hand printing industries.
I moved onto the water in 2012 and gradually moved all of my arts practice onto the boat as well. Being an artist living on the waterways, it is hard to ignore the handcrafted decoration. I have learnt how to paint in the traditional way and continue to study the last surviving form of English Folk Art.
My Narrow boat will be open at 2 different locations as follows thi September as part of the NOS festival;
Narrow Boat Hyperion, The Canal Museum, Stoke Bruerne NN12 7SE
Open: 3rd & 7th-10th Sept
Narrow Boat Hyperion, The Towpath above St. Peter & St.Paul’s Church, Church St, Weedon Bec NN7 4QR
