I Initially trained as a Sculpture Conservator working on classical and modern stone sculpture in public and private collections from around the UK. Working on projects at the British Museum London, V&A Museum, English Heritage, National Trust and private clients.
Training at Warwick University (Cert Ed) Northampton College and associate lecturing posts at Leicester University RAC, Stamford College (BA Fine Art) continued from 1994/2006. Combining Art Education and my own studio practice has formed a rewarding artistic journey.
My work explores the geometry of sculpture and attempts to convey fundamental elements of symmetry and proportion and how they interact with each other. The sculpture finds itself, in a state of flux, static yet in motion. Experimenting with positive and negative mass (space and solid) is part of the process. Sculpture in bronze, stone and steel. Paintings in acrylic, oil and mixed media.
Studio visits and commissions welcome.
