I’m never happier than when I can spend time in my studio, or in the garden or out in the fields to paint. Qualified from University of Northampton School of the Arts, Tresham College Northamptonshire and Minnetonka School of Art in the USA, I continue to learn every day and also teach others.
I love to paint with watercolour, acrylics, pastels and oils. Simple pencil drawings, craft projects for children, stencils, calligraphy are all mediums I explore with my artistic expression. Whatever medium I work in the common theme that pushes forward is always the balance of colour and form as a pervasive influence.
As a family we moved to Excelsior Minnesota in the USA for five years and I started a small group in the town for artists of all abilities to share a space painting together. I continued this work in Canada when we moved near Niagara Falls.
I have focused more of my time on abstract art in the medium of acrylic from my studio in Northampton, developing my style which is focused on form and colour balance utilising a unique technique for geometric layers. I am also mixing realism with abstract in my more recent work.
