I studied theatre design and then developed a screen printing business, hand printing on silks and velvets using bright coloured designs vaguely organic with an insect scattered here and there.

Recently I have gone back to theatre ideas where entertainment is a primary theme - either through imagination or situation such as circus.

The making process is where the ideas congeal and I am reliving the model making process where a designer will clarify the visual details for the set. This is a very imersive process. I find things happen subconsciously but which have been whirring around in my head as I try to solve the problems of getting the harmony and dynamic. Movement is  an element of importance whether in the subject (a travel item - a boat) or visual lines (curls and swirls)
