About Me (And Updates...)

'The proper study of mankind is man' (Alexander Pope). Catherine Staveley is interested in depicting her fellow human beings. A recent visit to Ethiopia introduced her to the people who live there . Their innate grace and charm has inspired a number of paintings of this nation who speak sixty languages between them and live between the Rift Valley below sea-level and and mountains rising to over three thousand metres.
