Alyssa Robinson at Derngate

Pieces created for exhibition at 78 Derngate, Northampton

A collection of pieces inspired by the rooms designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh at 78 Derngate Northampton, and the sculptures found in the gardens.  Quick thumbnail sketches of details found in the kitchen, bedroom and garden led to a group of nine semi-abstract pieces exploring the colours and textures found.  A companion piece showed the external architecture of the building.  All ten are created using dyed fabric scraps and hand-guided free machine stitching for details.
