The Japanese word for photography 'shashin satsuei' translates as 'a copy of the truth'. I like this description and yet to me photography is more: a penetration into a moment of light where a story can be found. I like feeling/seeing/capturing a story that's hidden, by resonating with the feeling that I have in that moment.
I also like pattern, form and structure - for instance the photos of the turbines near Earls Barton. They're so ethereal and solid, so connected to the pure element of air.
I like quirk - juxtaposition of forms creating making a crazy, surreal moment.
