I trained as an artist at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent studying Design:Surface Pattern. Now I live in Northamptonshire with my wife and daughter.
The landscapes, seascapes and diverse wildlife of the British Isles are a constant source of inspiration for my artwork. I enjoy chance encounters with animals and birds such as otters, red kites, deer, hares and foxes. These are the spark that ignites the ideas for my artworks.
The beautiful and illuminating words of poets such John Clare have fused my experiences with rich imagery that has driven my work over recent years. Poetry has been layered together using collage techniques to create intricate textures and imagery on a variety of subjects. These have included a portrait of the Irish poet WB Yeats for the BBC, and Agnes Nieman for Harvard University in the USA.
I remain intimately bound to my surroundings in the Northamptonshire Countryside and continue to gather ideas whilst out walking down the many hidden paths and into the old villages in the surrounding area.
