I have been drawing and painting for many years. I completed a 5 year BA hons fine art degree in 1990, and have been tutoring a local drawing group for the last couple of years.
My work has been included in many London exhibitions including "The Crypt" in Trafalgar square and the Brompton hospital in Fulham. I have also participated in Anglo Dutch projects, and my work is included in both private and public collections.
I particularly enjoy portraiture and work from both live models and photographs. In recent years I have been fortunate enough to complete a number of commissioned graphite portraits. I continue to enjoy life drawing and find that it helps to maintain my drawing skills.
Charcoal drawing has always been a firm favourite of mine and it remains at the centre of many of my projects. Being a keen gardener I love to sketch and paint in my garden using the plants and flowers for inspiration.
Inevitably there are recurring subjects that feature regularly in my work. I find the process of drawing and painting therapeutic, and hope to discover an image rather than illustrate a preconceived idea.
